In 1996 Jean Lubin returned for the first time to his birthplace in Belle Vue, Haiti, a mountain area
outside of Jacmel.  When he saw the extreme poverty and lack of opportunity for the children of this area,
he felt called by God to step up and do something to help "His" children. A dream was born - a dream to
open a school for the disadvantaged children in Belle Vue.  He returned to The United States and started
Head to Head. By cutting down on the family's food budget, Jean put money in the bank - money to open a
school.  Four years later, in 1999, he had $1,500. He felt it was time to begin. Under a roof of tarpaulins he
opened a school for 112 children. Eleven years later we are serving 212 of HIS children everyday -
teaching and feeding the ones who are so easy to forget. Here is some information about what we are
doing today.  Peace and Blessings for all.
We teach 212 children everyday
We are the only free school in the area
Without Head to Head most of these children would never learn to read or write or do basic math.  There
would be no true future
We feed each of these children everyday - for many of these children this is their only meal all day
It costs twelve cents to provide lunch for these children
We have an adult literacy program
We have a sewing program for children
We started out under a tarp - today we have four walls and a roof
Please consider a tax deductible donation to our program. A twenty five dollar donation would feed ALL of
our children for a day
Jean and his family continue to visit the school
All costs have been born by private individuals along with a few donations from religious groups, schools and
churches in the United States
