HEAD TO HEAD
It costs twelve cents a day to provide lunch for one child. Our teachers are paid seventy-five dollars
a month. Without our teachers we would not be able to provide an education for our children. We
have a cook who prepares each days meals for the children. He is required to walk an hour and a
half each way to get clean water to prepare the rice. He is paid sixty dollars a month for his
services. Half of our building is currently covered with a temporary roof. It is our hope that this
temporary roof can be replaced with a permanent roof before the next hurricane season. It is our
hope to expand our program so that ALL children in the area and their parents can learn to read and
write, have hope for the future, and learn skills so that they can become self sufficient and self
supporting.
Along with our commitment to expand the school for all children in the area we are also dedicated to
working on providing clean water to all residents of Belle Vue and also provide them with basic
medical care and treatment.
